The Vittoriano on Piazza Venezia is certainly a very impressive monument. We stop here during all our Segway tours of Rome, to take some awesome pictures and to learn about the history behind this commemorative building – how its construction has changed forever this side of the city and how controversial it was. Not to mention the nicknames the locals gave it…
However, what most people do not know, is that in the summertime several jazz concerts take place on the rooftop of the Vittoriano every Friday. Its gorgeous terrace will some of the best Italian musicians until September the 1st. The best thing? It’s for free! Of course, you will have to come in advance to take your place, and you may feel like an ancient Roman queuing up to get into the Colosseum or the Circus Maximus the night before the show. You can discover the history of these two highlights of the Eternal City taking our Panoramic Segway Tour or the Glory of Rome Segway Tour. The wait to get in (or on 🙂 is much shorter anyway, and it is really worth it. Below the program of the scheduled concerts, starting at 21.00 – so you want to be there by 20.30, even 20.15. Since our afternoon Rome Segway tours end at 18.00 or 18.30, it’s plenty of time to get there.
