This half-day tour of Rome by Golf Cart lets you see all of Rome’s attractions, without worrying about lunch, which is already sorted out and paid for. The ideal choice if you want to maximise your time in the Eternal City.
This private half-day Golf Cart tour of Rome starts at your hotel – as long as it is located in the city centre. After you’ve met your tour guide, we start zipping through Ancient Rome’s highlights, with the most known sites of the Eternal City: We reach the Colosseum, then proceed further to the massive remains of the Baths of Caracalla, after which we eventually stop at Circus Maximus for an astonishing view of the imperial palaces on the Palatine Hill.
From a great view to another, we get to the Aventine Hill, one of the legendary Seven Hills of Rome, and walk into the Orange Garden, which offers the perfect lookout to enjoy the city from above. On the way down, we will drive by the Mouth of Truth and stop at the Forum Boarium, the cattle market in Ancient Rome, which features two exceptionally preserved temple: Hercules’ and Portunus’, besides a marble arch that was the entry gate to the market. From there, we whiz to Piazza Venezia, where you’ll see one of the most impressive monuments of town, the Vittoriano, also serving as Altar of the Fatherland.
Then, this half day golf cart tour of Rome takes you to the Baroque heart of the Eternal City, namely to the Trevi Fountain: a masterpiece realised in the 18th Century, that symbolises water in its multiple facets, with a number of statues and small details. Do not forget to toss a coin into the water (which still comes from a Roman water pipe) to ensure you’ll come back to Rome.
From a great fountain to another, we hit the jewel of baroque: Piazza Navona, with the stunning Fountain of the four Rivers made by Bernini in the 17th Century. The square itself is a unique place, with a peculiar mix of classy buildings and a buzzing atmosphere.
After that, the Rome half day golf cart tour stops at the Pantheon, the best preserved of all Roman monuments. Oldest place of worship still in use, the Pantheon dates back to the 2nd Century A.D. and was the temple to all the gods of Rome. Turned into a Catholic church in 608 A.D., its structure was left untouched, and it still comprise the original columns, walls and floors.
At about 12:00 noon your tour guide will take you to the restaurant you’ve chosen for lunch: a contemporary Italian restaurant, or a Michelin starred restaurant, for an incredible food experience, consisting of a set menu of 3 courses created by the chef, using fresh produce from the market. Please take note that the Michelin starred restaurant is available only from Monday to Friday.
This half-a-day private Golf Cart tour of Rome then resumes around 1pm, to cover the other attractions you will have missed so far: the Vatican City, to admire the Saint Peter’s square and the Basilica, largest church in the world, in addition to the Castle of Saint Angelo, a majestic building with over 19 hundred years of history, towering right next to the river.
