Pickup and breakfast

Your Rome food tour begins at 11:00 AM with pickup directly from your hotel, as long as it’s within the historical center. We’ll start the morning the Italian way — with a cappuccino and cornetto at a local café loved by Romans. From there, your guide leads you past famous highlights like the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain, sharing fascinating stories about Rome’s history and daily life along the way. Soon after, we’ll cross the Tiber River and make our way to Testaccio, one of the city’s most authentic food districts.

Market at Testaccio

Here, you will visit the vibrant market that takes place every day – from Monday through Saturday. There you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the traditional “polpetta di lesso”, a delicious beef patty, long cooked and then deep fried. As an alternative, you can have a rich sandwich or – if it’s pasta that floats your boat – then go for the most typical Roman pasta at the next stand! After that, our Rome food tour in Golf Cart zips through other famous sites to get to its due end: an amazing gelato on one of the most beautiful squares of Rome, featuring the renowned Turtle Fountain.

Afternoon tour

Prefer to explore later in the day? Our afternoon food tour in a Golf Cart starts at 4:00 PM. We’ll begin with panoramic sightseeing and make our first food stop in Trastevere, where you’ll taste the famous Trapizzino — a triangle of pizza bianca stuffed with delicious traditional fillings. Then, we take the quaint alleys of the district to get to Testaccio, where you’ll have cold cuts and wine, in an exclusive setting: a small restaurant fashioned out of a hill that was made using debris and fragments of ancient Roman pottery.

Gelato and drop off

We’ll wrap up the tour at Piazza Mattei, one of Rome’s prettiest squares, right beside the Jewish Ghetto. Here, you’ll savor the city’s best gelato as your guide shares the final stories of Roman life, history, and cuisine. With your gelato in hand and your heart full, we’ll drop you off at your hotel — or any spot of your choice within the city center.
