The ultimate dessert tour of Rome

This dessert tour of Rome will make you taste the typical sweets of our capital city. At the same time, you will discover some of its famous sights, while learning interesting stories about the Eternal City. It’s a food tour all about sweetness!

Meeting and breakfast

The meeting point with your tour guide is at the exit of the metro station OTTAVIANO (A line), a stone’s throw from the Vatican City. You start off your journey into sweetness at the bakery La Dolce Maniera, where you can have a foamy cappuccino, together with a lovely Maritozzo con la Panna (a pastry roll filled with whipped cream). If you’re wondering… yes you can dunk it into the cappuccino!

After this delicious breakfast, you will have time to visit Saint Peter’s Square, learn about the story of the Papacy in Rome, and enjoy a refreshing drink while sightseeing. Then this dessert tour of Rome continues on with a stop at the Castel Sant’Angelo, to take a picture of this magnificent building. Here your guide will tell you the secrets of the place, which had many different functions, such as mausoleum of the Emperor Hadrian, fortress of the Popes, and prison…

Gelato, tiramisu, coffee

After all, it’s gelato time. Located on Via dei Coronari, one of the most picturesque alleyways of the city center, la Gelateria del Teatro offers a great selection of flavours, coupled with them all freshly made right in front of you!

Then, on the way to Piazza Navona, we’ll stop to taste on the most iconic Italian dessert, the famous Tiramisù. Once reached Piazza Navona, your guide will point out the most significant items on the square, and lead you further to get to the Pantheon, where the tour ends.

It wouldn’t be a true Italian dessert tour, though, if we weren’t to have an espresso before finishing the tour! The right place is exactly the Pantheon, with two renown cafes (Sant’Eustachio and la Tazza d’Oro) nearby.

The tour is private and has a fixed price, regardless to the number of participants. When booking, please select as many food tastings on the drop down menu as many people are on the tour. Food locations may slightly vary according to the season and the time of the day.

Rome in a day with lunch

Join this Half-Day Golf Cart Tour of Rome to experience the city’s most iconic attractions in comfort and style. This private sightseeing tour is ideal if you want to see more of Rome in less time, without worrying about lunch — it’s already included. The ideal choice if you want to maximise your time in the Eternal City.

Pickup and Ancient Rome

Your private half-day golf cart tour begins with a pickup from your central Rome hotel. After meeting your friendly guide, set off toward the heart of Ancient Rome. Glide past legendary landmarks such as the Colosseum, and then continue to the Baths of Caracalla, a massive complex that once hosted Roman citizens in luxury. Next, stop at Circus Maximus to enjoy a stunning view of the Palatine Hill and its imperial palaces — a breathtaking introduction to Rome’s ancient grandeur.

Aventine Hill and on to Piazza Venezia

From one breathtaking panorama to another, ride up to the Aventine Hill, one of Rome’s Seven Hills, where you’ll stroll through the Orange Garden and take in one of the best views over the Eternal City. On the way down, pass the Mouth of Truth and stop at the Forum Boarium, the site of Ancient Rome’s cattle market.

Here, admire two exceptionally preserved temples — those of Hercules and Portunus — as well as a marble arch that once served as the market’s entrance gate. Continue toward Piazza Venezia, home to the imposing Vittoriano Monument, also known as the Altar of the Fatherland, one of Rome’s most striking landmarks.

Trevi, Navona and Pantheon

Next, your half-day golf cart tour of Rome reaches the city’s Baroque heart. Visit the world-famous Trevi Fountain, an 18th-century masterpiece celebrating water in all its forms. Remember to toss a coin into the fountain — tradition says it guarantees your return to Rome.

Then, ride to Piazza Navona, the jewel of Baroque Rome, where Bernini’s Fountain of the Four Rivers takes center stage amid elegant buildings and a lively atmosphere. From there, continue to the Pantheon, the best-preserved Roman monument still in use today. Originally a temple dedicated to all Roman gods, it became a Catholic church in 608 A.D. and still retains its original columns, marble floors, and massive dome — a true marvel of ancient engineering.

Lunch break

Around 12:00 PM, your guide will take you to your pre-selected restaurant for lunch. Choose between a traditional Italian restaurant or a Michelin-starred dining experience, both offering a three-course gourmet menu crafted from fresh, seasonal ingredients. (Please note that the Michelin-star option is available Monday through Friday only.) This delightful break lets you relax and savour authentic Roman cuisine before the tour continues.

Vatican

After lunch, your private Rome golf cart tour resumes around 1:00 PM, heading to the Vatican City. Admire the grand St. Peter’s Square and St. Peter’s Basilica, the world’s largest church, then visit the nearby Castel Sant’Angelo, an ancient fortress overlooking the Tiber River with nearly two thousand years of history.

Finally, your guide will drive you back to your hotel or any preferred location within Rome’s historic center, completing an unforgettable half-day journey through the Eternal City — blending ancient wonders, artistic beauty, and culinary excellence into one seamless Roman experience.
