The tour lasts three hours, but you can choose how you want to spend your time: whether focusing on the Colosseum – with the opportunity of touring the arena, with a little surcharge and subject to availability – or squeezing in a visit to the Palatine Hill.

This private tour starts at the Colosseum, where you will be met by your guide and handed the tickets, for you to skip the long queues to buy them. Once you get in, you will start to time travel 2000 years into the past, learning the history of the Colosseum, how it was built and what kind of show ran there.

After finishing the visit of the Colosseum, you will exit the monument and head for the Roman Forum, the beating heart of the ancient city. Here, you will see all the three triumphal arches still standing: the Arch if Titus, the Arch of Septimius Severus and the Arch of Constantine. See the old Roman Senate, the remaining of impressive temples dating back thousand of years.

After that, you’ll move to the Palatine Hill, the legendary place where Rome was founded by Romulus in 753 BC, and where later several emperors decided to live, building magnificent houses. This food tour of Rome by Golf Cart features two departure times, one in the morning and the other in the late afternoon, for you to choose between two itineraries. It stops at several places where you can taste traditional delicacies, savoury and sweet, and soak into the most authentic atmosphere of the least touristy districts in Rome.

The morning tour starts off with cappuccino e cornetto – what else? The typical breakfast every Italian has at their favourite local cafe. After some sightseeing, hitting famous highlights such as the Colosseum or the Trevi Fountain among others, we cross the river to explore Trastevere, and get a slice of fabulous pizza bianca, stuffed with mortadella or prosciutto or anything you’re down for.

Then, we’ll get to Testaccio, to visit the vibrant market that takes place every day – from Monday through Saturday. There you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the traditional “polpetta di lesso”, a delicious beef patty, long cooked and then deep fried. As an alternative, you can have a rich sandwich or – if it’s pasta that floats your boat – then go for the most typical Roman pasta at the next stand! After that, our Rome food tour in Golf Cart zips through other famous sites to get to its due end: an amazing gelato on one of the most beautiful squares of Rome, featuring the renowned Turtle Fountain.
